Tyng Cup Celebration

The Tyng Cup is without a doubt one of the most sought after titles for residential colleges at Yale. It is the prize awarded to the overall winner of a series of intramural sports, and this year JE won it! This victory is truly a rarity. In the 77 years of Tyng Cup history, JE has only won the Tyng Cup twice (1959 and 1995). One of the reasons JE gives for our lack of Tyng Cup wins is that we are small college with few people. But this year, we took everyone by surprise and made up for our lack in numbers with our strength in spirit.
For IMs, I play Ping Pong in the fall, Squash in the winter, and Badminton in the spring. Just last night, our badminton team won the championships, marking an undefeated season!
In celebration, today we roasted 2 pigs in our courtyard, handed out medallions, and wore crowns on our day of GLORY. Oh yeah, free t-shirts too! :)

Dana (my badminton doubles partner and future suite mate!) and I with the Tyng Cup! Also, we got medals!

Dana and Randy (her boyfriend and our badminton captain! He writes such great e-mails that people sign up for the badminton panlist simply to receive his rallying cries.) Aren't they cute!? Randy got a crown for being the captain of an IM team (the one Dana is wearing) and he got another more legit crown because he was an IM secretary (someone who organizes IMs).
